Cleaning Action🌾

Immagine
Hello everyone!  In these days with the other volunteers we have planned and started days dedicated to cleaning the most neglected areas of the city.  We also had the support of some local volunteers who made our cleaning action more meaningful. I hope we will be more and more and in the same time to have an impact to the local people.

The natural beauty of Romania

Hello everyone! In these days I was reflecting on how many green areas are present in my current city, Resita. I find Romania and Italy very close for the beauty of the landscapes and this makes me feel closer to my home. In particular in these days between working on videos for children and studying, I found a few hours to visit a nearby farm and take a picnick. It was really a pleasant moment of relaxation from everyday stress. I hope to find time to visit some cities near the sea after my examination. Have a good night Martina

Slowly we return to normal..

Hello everyone!  From two weeks we have made progress towards a "safe" return to normal life. This virus have been testing us for months, but at the same time partly fortified. We still don't have full freedom of movement, in fact I think it will be a long time before returning to my country to visit my family. These days will be hard for me because I took advantage of the quarantine to study for an important exam that makes me a little anxious, but it is an exam aimed at fully completing my training as a social worker.  With my association we continue with the videos and I hope soon to be able to return to work directly with the children. In this last month we have had the midterm which has not lived up to my expectations as it was done in video conference. Patience, I hope the days to come will be more stimulating and more adventurous. Bye Martina

...Quarantine according to Martina..

With this article I want to recommend some ideas on how to spend the quarantine. It is not said that staying at home is only boring, certainly we young people are used to being out, traveling, going shopping and things like that. But these days can be useful to resume some passion, read, study and why not be able to recover that TV series that had left behind. Today I will give you some tips to overcome moments of boredom and depression. 1. Make your environment comfortable and clean. As a volunteer in Romania I don't have the opportunity to stay in my house, where I live is a smaller environment than I am used to. To make it more comfortable and familiar I tried to decorate the walls of the house with drawings and photos and arrange the furniture as I like. I try to always keep clean because when the environment around me is confused, I can't feel comfortable.   I'm stupid, I know xD 2. Dedicate yourself to those passions you have overlooked. In P

...Thinking about the past days...

Hi readers. To bring some positivity I want to think back to the past days and the beautiful activities carried out with my children and other volunteers. At the beginning of my volunteering I was not sure how to use my talent here, I am a reserved and shy person and sometimes these characteristics can be an impediment for many things. After some time I found my way of carrying out activities and relating mainly to a third language: Romanian. Little by little the relationships with the children intensified, especially with the children of the orphanage and I found more and more interesting methods and activities. I have created many activities aimed at road education, science, the English language and emotions. The teachers and other volunteers, in particular Ariane, supported me in improving my activities more and more. With the arrival of new volunteers, it was easier for me to have a betterelationship with the group.  There were really a

Hello everyone! These days have been quite slow because of the virus that has spread. We volunteers were forced first to reduce our activities in schools and then completely end. We had to reinvent ourselves to continue our activities and keep in touch with our children, in fact we created a group on Facebook where we shared videos on activities to offer them. This is the link of the group https://www.facebook.com/groups/2582564652032459/?ref=bookmarks Personally these days at home have been used in a fruitful way, in fact I tried to keep myself active. I studied, I wrote a project, I tried to create videos for children and I sewed masks.  I admit that I am not very good, I am rather clumsy but I think the most important thing in all is the intention. As a volunteer I tried to carry on my activities trying not to break down and use my creativity. In these particular moments, I felt it was essential to be able to keep in touch with the children to try to make th

It's a new day..

Well, well, well.. I'm Martina and from October I'm a volunteer in Nevo Parudimos, this association is located in Resita, Romania. Three month are already passed, but just now I feel the importance to give some feedback to my self and why not also to some other people that will be interested to my new experience here. But now I will introduce little bit my self, yes, for sure you will say "oh this is the boring part" but reader sometimes is nice to remember who we are. Okay, let's start. I'm Martina, I'm Italian and I'm 25 years old. I have master degree in social service and social policies.   What brought me here?   Two main reasons brought me here, the first I want to get more experience in the social field before be involved in a work and the second love (but this is another story). After this...it's time to tell you about my first months here. When I arrived here wasn't for me a new place, I
