It's a new day..

Well, well, well.. I'm Martina and from October I'm a volunteer in Nevo Parudimos, this association is located in Resita, Romania.

Three month are already passed, but just now I feel the importance to give some feedback to my self and why not also to some other people that will be interested to my new experience here.

But now I will introduce little bit my self, yes, for sure you will say "oh this is the boring part" but reader sometimes is nice to remember who we are.

Okay, let's start.

I'm Martina, I'm Italian and I'm 25 years old. I have master degree in social service and social policies.

What brought me here?

Two main reasons brought me here, the first I want to get more experience in the social field before be involved in a work and the second love (but this is another story).

After this...it's time to tell you about my first months here.

When I arrived here wasn't for me a new place, I done a research for my thesis here about the gender violence in Romania so I didnt have a cultural shock. I can say that the most of the time I like to stay here, but sometimes I miss to live in a big city as my Palermo.

During this days I met so many people, we are a very big group of volunteers from a lot of countries, and I admit that for me it's not so easy, but I survive. I especially build a very nice relationship with Ariane, a French girl. We are also a good team work and this make more nice to work.

I enjoyed the activities that I made during this month. The association collaborate with a lot of place like schools, hope center, kindergarten, disability centers etc... All of this place give me a lot of chance for to learn.

October for me was a time to understand how I can give a real support, I needed to understand how I can use my skills. After this reflection time I started to be more and more active. The time that I spend every days with the children give me a lot of satisfaction because I see that with my contribution I can make a little more happy their life.
